Convert HEIC to PNG when PNG is the format you need

PNG is useful for graphics, screenshots, and images that need transparency. Morphio creates a separate PNG for each HEIC or HEIF input.

What happens to the image

Each input becomes a separate PNG. PNG supports transparency and uses lossless image compression, but converting from HEIC cannot recreate information that was not present in the source.

Photo files can become larger as PNG, so choose PNG because you need its format characteristics, not because it is always a smaller or better output.

Privacy or Cloud?

Privacy is the default for individual HEIC or HEIF images. The image conversion happens in your browser and those images are not uploaded.

Cloud uploads files to Morphio for server-side processing and also supports ZIP input. Files uploaded in Cloud are deleted by default after one day.

ZIP input and ZIP download are different things: ZIP input is a Cloud feature, while a ZIP download simply bundles several successful results.

Progress, retries, and downloads

Each file has its own progress and result. A failed file can be retried without discarding the files that already finished.

When several retryable items remain, Continue can resume them. Successful files stay available for individual download, with a grouped ZIP download when applicable.

Privacy, Cloud, and file handling

Processing: Privacy processes individual HEIC/HEIF images in your browser. Cloud uploads files to Morphio for server-side processing.
Cloud retention: Files uploaded in Cloud are deleted by default after one day.
Metadata: Morphio keeps supported metadata when the output format can carry it. Some HEIC-specific data may not transfer.
ZIP files: ZIP input is available in Cloud. A ZIP download for multiple successful results is available in both Privacy and Cloud.

When PNG is a good choice

Use PNG when the app or website specifically asks for PNG, when transparency matters, or when a lossless raster output is useful. Choose JPG instead when broad photo compatibility and smaller files are the main priorities.
