Open HEIC files in your browser
Morphio reads HEIC and HEIF files in the browser so you can view the image without first converting it. If the file contains multiple images or frames, you can move through them and inspect the information Morphio can read.
What you can do in the HEIC Viewer
Use the Viewer when you simply need to open a HEIC or HEIF file and see what is inside. It can display multiple images or frames and show available EXIF and image information.
Because Morphio parses the file inside the web app, a successful preview does not mean Chrome or your operating system natively supports HEIC.
Save or convert after viewing
After the file opens, you can save the current frame as JPG or PNG through Privacy mode. If you need a full conversion job or PDF output, use the dedicated converter for that format.
When you need a JPEG copy, convert HEIC to JPG.
If the file will not open
Keep the original and check that the file is really HEIC or HEIF. Changing the extension does not convert the file.
If the file came from an unfamiliar source and you are worried about safety, use the HEIC safety guide. A preview is not a malware scan.
For support problems, read about HEIC codecs. Device guides cover Windows, Mac, iPhone, and Linux.
If the image opens here but another app rejects HEIC, make a JPG copy for that app.
What to do next
If viewing was all you needed, you are done. If another app will not accept the file, convert it to the format that app expects.
For platform-specific problems, use the Windows, Mac, iPhone, Android, Chromebook, Chrome, or Linux guide.
Next, you can make a PDF copy, learn about photo metadata, or prepare the picture for editing.
